She saw the Zoo's new chimpanzee exhibit and the Zoo's 10 chimps. The Houston Zoo acknowledges the important wildlife conservation efforts of the Jane Goodall Institute, especially with threatened chimpanzees and gorillas in Africa's Congo Forest Wilderness. This video was developed by Student Conservation Association (SCA) Summer Crew leader, Hunter Creswell, who also served as one of Houston’s Fall Crew leaders this past season (setting a precedent for Houston’s first urban Corps team). Hunter captured the experiences of one of the three crews that participated in Houston’s Summer Community Crew’s 6-week program. Most of the video is filmed at a work site along Spring Creek Greenway. Members discuss why they chose the SCA, what they’ve learned while serving with SCA, and some of the benefits of having the opportunity to work outdoors.
